Rob Garrett as Neil Diamond in Las Vegas

ROB GARRETT’S “King of Diamonds” Vegas residency show CONTINUES ON in the “Modern Showrooms Las Vegas” at Alexis Park Las Vegas Hotel.

Music icon Neil Diamond is one of the most successful and beloved singer/songwriters in rock and pop music history.

More than just being one of the best-selling and concert drawing artists ever, he’s also created and performed the music that defined generations — including some of the most recognized songs on the planet.

In the Neil Diamond tribute Las Vegas dinner and show package beginning of 2018, shortly before his 77th birthday, Neil Diamond stepped away from live performances after being diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease.

However, Diamond’s on-stage legacy continues to be kept alive for audiences across the globe through Las Vegas entertainer Rob Garrett, widely regarded as the top Neil Diamond tribute artist.

Ask Siri “who is America’s number one Neil Diamond tribute artist,” and you’ll always hear Rob Garrett.

Like his legendary counterpart, Rob Garrett was a Brooklyn, New York native.

In the spring of 1974, his parents moved the family from New York City to the Las Vegas Valley, where, two years later, he witnessed his first live Neil Diamond show when Diamond made his attendance-breaking Las Vegas debut at the Aladdin Hotel’s “Theater for the Performing Arts” in July 1976.

Garrett went on to see him another 16 times across the country—right up until Diamond’s final U.S. concert at the LA Forum on August 12, 2017.

In 1980, Garrett created his own band, “Rock n Roll Heaven,” and enjoyed a successful 15-year run in Las Vegas and across the nation before making the move from lead singer of a cover band to a full-time tribute performer dedicated to one of his boyhood inspirations.

In 1995, Garrett was selected by Paul Revere (of The Raiders) to portray Neil Diamond in the “Legends in Concert” show in Honolulu, Hawaii.

What was meant to be a limited run turned into a three-year success.

By August 1998, Garrett returned home to Las Vegas and continued to perform with “Legends” for another couple of years before deciding to go independent.

He began a steady touring schedule, building a strong worldwide fan community along the way—earning the title “King of Diamonds.”

He continues to perform to sold-out venues nationwide, often in venues fit for superstars.

Garrett has also earned several honors, including “Male Tribute Artist of the Year.”

“Since Neil Diamond retired, I’ve felt a strong sense of responsibility to keep his legacy alive for future generations. It’s something I never get tired of doing,” he said.

On May 19, Las Vegas Mayor Carolyn Goodman officially proclaimed the date “Rob Garrett Day,” commemorating his 50 years living in Las Vegas and 44 years as a professional Vegas performer.

Now in 2025, Garrett celebrates 45 years as an active Las Vegas entertainer, with the last three decades devoted solely to paying tribute to the now-retired Neil Diamond.

It has been said that no other tribute artist is so closely identified with the original performer as Garrett, who has performed his show at more Las Vegas venues than any other tribute artist.

Since the June closing of “A Beautiful Noise” (the Broadway jukebox musical based on Diamond’s life story), Rob Garrett’s “King of Diamonds” show has become the only continuous Neil Diamond tribute in the U.S..

The Alexis Park Resort is located at 375 E. Harmon Ave., near the Las Vegas Strip.
